Cargill Cedar Rapids, which started its wet corn milling operation in September 1967, produces a variety of corn syrups and industrial and food grade starches, which are all utilized as ingredients in a variety of consumer products, from sports drink and cereals to pharmaceuticals and dry wall.

Cargill Cedar Rapids houses approximately 300 team members — 107 union hourly operations employees, 136 salaried employees and 80 embedded contractors.
Safety is a critical part of the Cargill culture. Cargill Cedar Rapids received its VPP STAR status in January 2016 and was recognized by the Corn Refiners Association for its excellent safety achievements for 2015, including no injuries and fatalities and 1 million consecutive hours without a lost workday.

Community engagement is also important to Cargill. The Cargill Cedar Rapids team contributed over 1,500 volunteer hours and over $85,000 this past year to a variety of different community and charity organizations.
